Karen and Deb are Happy to see each other. The cafe has been redecorated with some scary stuff! Karen says it’s going to take a little getting used to. They chat about how Deb is miserable and Andy isn’t back yet and neither one of them has heard from Keith. Haley and Lucas walk in and Karen is happy to see Haley. I’m glad somebody else is! Haley is there to ask for her job back. Deb says she asked Haley to stop by and ask Karen. Of course she can have her job back, Karen has no real intention of ACTUALLY running the Cafe. These last few months without Haley were really hard, I’m sure. She starts right away and sees the piano. She flashes back to her playing for the first time for Nathan. They play the whole song throughout some more scenes. She tells Lucas about that night and he asks if she’s heard from Nathan. She says he never picked up, but she wrote letters. Hmmm…
Dan is still going though Nathan’s stuff looking for the papers. Deb comes in and hands him and envelope. He opens it to find that it is their Divorce papers. She says he’s recovered and she’s recovered But their marriage never will. He gets all weird and then says cool and goes for a walk. Haley is working at the Cafe and Brooke comes in and says to bring her stuff to the apartment after work. Haley’s confused. Brooke says she could use the rent money so she has some spending money for a new fall wardrobe.
Lucas and Peyton are walking on the boardwalk talking. He says he can’t get used to her hair. She says it’s better than his Spring cut. She says Ellie had the whole long hair thing going and she doesn’t want to look anything like her. Eye roll. Peyton, she also had the whole STRAIGHT hair thing going. Dum dum. Lucas asks if Ellie has tried contacting her again or if she’s still getting strange emails. Peyton says no to both. Lucas says he met Ellie once before he even knew who she was and that he’s seen her around town again. Dun dun dun.
Back at High Flyers, Nathan is in the locker room. His buddy asks if he’s going to the party later. Nathan doesn’t know. His friend also advises that he should take it easy, he can’t get it all back at once. Idk. Nathan has the letter that came for him. Whatever it says it reminds him of the Annulment papers. Haley didn’t actually sign them, she wrote, “I love you…”
Haley walks into the apartment and sees that Peyton has put a frame around it that says Love at the top. This is her life now. Brooke walks over to her and says she has room but no pity, Haley did what she did and can’t change it, take it or leave it. Haley takes it. She’s no longer homeless! There must’ve been a focus group that pinpointed these two as audience favorites so they stuck them in a room together. Works for me!
Ok, Dan is crazy! He walked all the way to a church to go confess sins he hasn’t actually committed yet. He tells the priest that he does remember seeing someone in the fire there to kill him. He says he’s going to piece it all together. As he talks flashes are shown of Jules, Andy, Lucas, Deb, Karen, Keith, and Haley as possible people that would totes want him dead. You know, people he’s actually committed some sins against. But that’s neither here nor there to him. Seriously, Dan, if you can make a list, maybe you ain’t livin’ right. He tells the preist that the sins he commits next are going to turn the world to rubble or some such. No, the priest cannot tell the nonexistent Tree Hill authorities that a man has come in and threatened lives. Such is the Confessional.
Lucas meets Brooke at the beach. They think their casual dating is going to work. Lucas does not seem as convinced as before. They kiss and she takes a selfie of them for her Summer Vacation board she has in her room.
Ok, so I remember this episode most for what Peyton paints on her wall. And then how her voiceover ends. It’s cheesey good. Loves it!
